Dr. Red Nose by Theatre De La Sardine

2015July - present
I join the plan called "Dr. Red Nose" in Taiwan. We play the clown performance for the sick children and their parents, and also the medical staffs in National Taiwan University Children’s Hospital.
I perform and do the improvised show for the children with my partner one time a week. And we have regular training class to progress our performing ability. Recently, our team planned to go other different hospitals to bring happy to the people in need.

This is a very valuable experience to work with the Beijing opera's actors. Their body movement and all the gestures were very beautiful and interesting. And we also use some part of shadow play to show the puppet and the puppeteer's relationship.
In the Chinese puppet workshop, the master showed us the operating methods to us. And we put the concept to our play. Thus, we complete the new style of Beijing Opera with the actor moving like the puppets.
A little bit like Chinese Liyuan Opera. The variation of performers' joints was very clear and obvious.

This is an amazing journey for me to experience the different culture and learning with so many talented people around me. Performing in English definitely give me a wonderful challenge that how can I use the language to tell my own story. Now as a bilingual person, I find out myself enjoy the different ways to reveal the humanity of my performance. And I also enjoy to see the show in New York city. This whole three year gives me the nutrition to grow wider and deeper and understanding myself much more. And live in the city far away from home also gives me a distance to figure out the questions I had when I was in Taiwan. I find my identity and viewpoints of my life. And now, I am eager to work with diverse artists in this beautiful city as many as possible.

In college life, I participated in many productions and presentations in the acting courses. Most of my acting courses were the realistic style.
I learned from those course about how to work on a play, how to analyze a character's inner impulse. In addition, I also took some courses like the ancient Greek tragedy, music and movement of Kun Opera, musical and vocal training course, and the clown workshop.
Banqiao Senior High School
2007 - 2010
In that time, I did not know what theatre art is. I just joined the wind band in my school. Also, I like to draw and do some handmade card.
The last year of my senior high school, I decided to choose the department about art. So, luckily, my favorable teacher encouraged me to apply NTU, and choose its drama and the theatre.
