The story was about the pimp called Irma and her customers in the war time. She is a very fragile woman who wanted her lover to love and protect her forever. But she was also tough in her brothel business. During the war, she became the temporary queen accidently. She got something she hasn't had before. However, she lost her lover in the end. But she never gave up in this situation. In the end, she checked up all details and said goodbye to the audience (the customers). And told to her own self very softly: we will open the door, and we let you play as the bishop, the judge, and the rebels. And one thing we all can ascertain is that everything outside the brothel is faker than this place.

 

This production is my graduation performance in my college life. Jean Genet's text is very sentimental and delicate. I spend a lot of time to work on my character.

Although I faced the problems like how to act, and how to develop the vivid character on the stage, I still worked hard, and finally, I had a wonderful experience, and I know I like to perform on the stage very much.
