It was a really fun devised production with those young talented artists. Young Gods was deal with the dilemma for the pros and cons about technologies for the generation Z and Millennials. Our director/playwright Diane leaded us from basic discussions from news, social medias and personal experiences to go deeper into this adventure. The biggest takeaway for me is to make a commitment to each show and really taking care of each other as an ensemble on the sta. This production allowed my imagination to go wilder and enjoy the energy bounced back from the audience.

NEW SCHOOL MFA 3RD YEAR PRODUCTION

It was the main stage production for my 3rd year MFA Acting program in the New school. I played the character Mrs. Corney /Mrs. Bumble  whose a matron of a workhouse who stole Oliver's mother's golden locket and treats orphans badly and taking away their budget for meals. But later on be caught her bad deeds and eventually lose her job and become the poor who works in the same workhouse with her husband. This production really challenges me to step away from my comfort zone and playing a character whose from authority, the big take away for me is there are so many ways to show my position naturally, the more I dived in the world of the play, and the routine and job my character needed to do, the more I don't need to worry about whether I looked like a authority figure or not.  And as an ensemble in the show, I also learnt how to find the right time to support the main characters, and when to find a way to shine on the stage to balance the story.

It was the main stage production for my 2nd year MFA Acting program in the New school. I played the character Fick whose a junkie who acts wildly but later on revealing his broken heart which being wounded by strong bad guys, and longing for real human connection. In this experience, my director Raelle gave me a space to develop my character from a personal connections and finding my position in the world of this story. I found the humanity and vulnerability inside this firecracker role. I also enjoyed to go into my character's body, and being with him to explore the journey each show.

NEW SCHOOL OF DRAMA 2018 PRODUCTION

It was really lucky for me to work Rebecca's directing thesis in her 3rd Year in the New School for Drama. I played the character the woman who is a mother's dead sister in her memory who fell in love with an American in Korea during the war period, and eventually too weak to flee away with her lover and died of the illness. I really enjoy work with Rebecca who provided really safe and open space in the rehearsal. And really research for the time period which affects character's choices hugely. And as a person grew up outside the States, I felt such a deep connection with my character, and enjoy the beautiful romance and self dilemma whether she should go with her lover or not. This was a lovely experience to know how to put myself into my work as an artist.
